Thank you for visiting my site. I am a current senior at Union College in Schenectady, New York, studying Economics and Environmental Science. I developed this website as part of my senior thesis, Low Flow, High Return: The Economics of Efficient Showerheads.
In the thesis, I explore how fixture retrofits can save building owners money while simultaneously helping the environment. Throughout my research, I noticed that many people simply did not understand the cost savings available through efficiency. This website was created to be a clear and transparent breakdown of cost savings and financial metrics — to show people the real savings beyond the sticker price.
Importantly, the calculations on this site are projections. Users should measure flow rates themselves using the methodology found in the thesis for improved accuracy.
